Grumbly Rumblings

As I write this (the joys of prescheduled posts), the noise of the iPad is bleeding through the walls. It could be worse. It could be the television. Or a meltdown.

As I write this, I can feel the yoghurt I ate for supper settling into my tummy, bringing a sort of peace to the cantankerous all afternoon bellyache. At least I have food in my tummy.

As I write this, The Dude has taken the Doodle out for a walk, having finished a long but successful day at work. He will come in and eat his food, and make me a peppermint tea, and I won’t even have to remind him. Because he cares. And he knows I am grumpy.

As I write this, I am less grumpy than when I first started. I can ignore the noise, instead concentrating on the tic-tic-tic of the keyboard. I can smile at the words creeping from brain to fingers to screen. I can feel my heartrate drop and my breathing slow as I concentrate my mind on the small little details.

As I write this, I am less grumpy. That’s quite impressive.

What do you do to degrump?
